Over 25 Years Of Excellence Elizabeth Kleider Elizabeth Kleider is the office manager. She is a devoted horse person whose experience includes competing successfully at the intermediate level in the sport of Three Day Eventing. She was part of the 1998 Young Riders Team for BC. Elizabeth continues her education by attending many CE courses such as the AAEP and surgery conferences. She is your first line of communication when you call for advice or an appointment and she looks forward to helping you! Christa grew up in White River, a small town in northern Ontario. She started taking lessons at the age of 8 where she developed a passion for eventing. Being from a small town isolated from everything lessons where hard to come by so she spent her summers in southern Ontario getting as much training as she could. This wasn't enough for Christa and this is when she decided to go to school so she could work with horses everyday. Christa graduated from a 3 year Veterinary technician program at St. Lawrence College in Kingston Ontario. Upon Graduation she decided to gain great equine emergency experience working at the University of Guelph in the Large Animal Clinic. Later on Christa discovered that Langley was the Horse Capital and that is where she wanted to be, so she decided to make the big move to the beautiful West Coast to follow her dream to work with horses. The staff at Kleider Veterinary Services has one common bond; a passion for horses. You can expect that your horse will be handled with the competence that comes with experience. We know that the veterinary clinic and some experiences can be frightening for many horses. Our staff will work with patience and confidence to gain the trust of your horse. The mixture of horses and medicine was ordained for Nick from an early age. His father was a neurosurgeon with a love for horses, and Nick grew up on a riding school in Windsor, Ontario. Being away, first at boarding school and then university, limited Nick's riding to vacations only, but he still managed to compete internationally on the winning Ontario Young Riders Three Day Event Team while in his first year of vet school. Veterinary medicine consumed Nick, and he sacrificed riding to spend his university summers attending horse shoeing courses and assisting other veterinarians. Upon graduation from the University of Guelph in 1978 Nick headed west where he has dedicated his life to equine practice and raising a family of 3 sons. Always looking for the next challenge, Nick's experiences include:
Nick's goal for combining innovation in treatment with a greater understanding of the horse is accomplished by staying abreast of the latest research and staying active as a competitor. He knows that just as there is always something new to be learned on the medical front; so is there always something new to be learned from your horse. Nick rides and trains as time permits. He competes locally for pleasure. Dr. Kleider is very involved in British Columbia's equestrian community and often speaks to various horse organizations and associations.
