An aerial view of Kleider Veterinary Services Equine Clinic and surrounding horse country. The clinic combines the traditional look and appeal of a classic horse farm with one of the most up to date diagnostic, surgical, and treatment facilities available to horses in all of British Columbia.

Patients include race and performance horses of all types and owners who want the best for their "partners". They expect innovation in treatment combined with an instinctive understanding of their horse.

Major fields of interest in our practice include:

  • Examinations for lameness and performance limiting problems. The practice boasts the latest equipment including digital radiology, 2 digital ultrasounds & digital fluoroscopy.
  • Therapy: Treatments for joints, ligaments & tendons including shock wave, IRAP, PRP, stem cell/bone marrow therapy.
  • Surgery:orthopedic/arthroscopic/tenoscopic/laparoscopic/reconstructive/respiratory
  • Dentistry
  • Preventative Health Care Programs (worming & vaccinations)
  • Providing client information and education

The state-of-the-art clinic houses an extensive examination area containing digital fluoroscopy, digital radiography and digital ultrasound diagnostic equipment. Shock wave therapy and standing procedures are also done here. The sterilization and scrub room has a laboratory for processing IRAP, PRP and other specialty items. The operating and recovery rooms are now complimented with a new area for minimally invasive surgery which has stocks for standing laparoscopy. Lameness and pre-purchase examinations utilize non-slip paved surfaces and the indoor arena for jogging / longing and riding.

Lameness diagnosis is a specialty at Kleider Veterinary Services.
The clinic's operating theater includes a padded recovery room.
Dental care is vital to a horse's well being.

Kleider Veterinary Services Equine Clinic is located near historic Fort Langley, in the northern portion of British Columbia's "Horse Capital". Only seconds from the Trans-Canada Highway 1, this convenient location has easy access to all major thruways.

Visitors

Regular visitors to Kleider Vet Services include veterinarians interested in sharing their knowledge and some of our experience. Recent veterinary visitors have come from as far as Germany, Brazil and Iran. We are blessed to have many of the local practicing vets work with us and refer cases. We truly enjoy our interactions and discussions. Our goal is to maintain our strong friendships and professional relationships.

Other visitors include veterinary students who frequently apprentice for the summer months with us.

Veterinary technicians and vet assistants, as part of their training program, visit us to gain equine experience. Our vet assistant Mary Ann was discovered while completing one of these programs

Safety concerns (radiation and maintaining sterility) & insurance policies allow only horse owners, employees or those in training to attend surgeries and exams but please feel free to review the website for pictures and video clips of our practice and many of our procedures.

Tours and mini lectures for small groups are welcome - see our lecture and seminar section for additional information.

Community Involvement

Kleider Veterinary Services is proud to be an associated supporter for the New Stride Thoroughbred Association. Dr. Kleider & his wife volunteer their surgical and diagnostic services as needed. They share a common goal of the organization whose mission is to ensure that each and every noncompetitive and injured Thoroughbred racehorse gets a second chance and is placed into a caring adoptive home.
