Demi and Monty "there is a Native tale from the midwest that says the colors of horses represent the sacred directions; gold for east, red for south, black for west and grey for north. White is the spirit within. These are the gifts of the five winds" Five Winds Farm is located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is a magnificent area for camping, riding or ocean sports just forty minutes by ferry north of Vancouver. With trails and pristine west coast forest just outside our door we ride or drive our Canadians several times each week. Five Winds Canadians is a small breeding operation founded 1999. We limit the size of our herd so there is time to train and handle all the horses regularly. The pictures here show some of the fun we have had with this wonderful breed in recent years. We stand two stallions and are committed to the traditional type of Canadian Horse. We breed for versatile, athletic horses within the breed standard of 14 - 16 hh, with exceptional temperament and a variety of colours, as per the legend that is our farm's inspiration. If you are interested in breeding a mare, we accept both Canadian and mares of other breeds. Our stallions are available by AI, limited live cover and frozen semen (Prince only). We always have good, quality stock for sale and welcome visitors to explore the mountain with us and come play with our horses. Please browse the website and let us know what you think. Special thanks to Ferme Franchere, Yvonne Hillsden, Deb Harper, Norma Brow and our many barn workers for their help in getting quality photos. Betty Baxter and Judi Hayward
